Queued Jobs On SellerCloud

In this article, we will discuss understanding and accessing queued jobs, job status and priority.

SellerCloud has a system of scheduling tasks in a queue to be done in the background while you can continue working on the website. Generally large data processing tasks perform in queues automatically and system checks for new jobs every 1-2 minutes. You can schedule queued jobs to run at any time. Heavy jobs can be run at night or at off peak hours for server efficiency. SellerCloud can process many jobs at a time. When you submit multiple jobs at the same time, it queues all of them and processes the first one first and then one by one.

Go to the SellerCloud Dashboard and you will find your queued jobs. Click on View All.

You will be taken to a page where you will be able to filter jobs with Job Type, Status, Job Id and Submitted Date.

You can filter with job types selecting from the drop-down menu. You will find here all of the job types we perform on SellerCloud.

You will be able to filter with Status. When a job is submitted on SellerCloud, it shows the status Submitted. When it is in process, it shows the status Processing. After completion the job status shows Completed. There are also other job statuses.

When you will filter with a certain criteria, you will be taken to the Queued Jobs page. Click on any Job ID.

You will see the details of that job and whether there were any errors etc.

When you submit a job on SellerCloud, it automatically receives ‘Normal’ priority. But the priority level can be set to ‘High’ and ‘Critical’ when you schedule a job.

To set a priority level, let’s submit a job. As an example, here we are performing bulk upload. Go to Inventory, and click on Bulk Update Products. 

Select the company name, choose the file, file type. Click on Schedule Bulk update and set the schedule time. Click on the Submit button.

Again go to My Queued Jobs, select Set Priority Critical from the dropdown menu and click on Go.

You will find a message that your job priority has been updated to ‘Critical’.

The highest priority is ‘Critical’. Critical jobs are processed on a separate dedicated thread but they do not start immediately without waiting for other jobs to be completed. Firstly they consider the maximum number of jobs that the server can handle. SellerCloud re-evaluates to process the subsequent job to select the Critical job.

Note: Jobs are deleted after 10 days.
