Kit listing on Linnworks (Composite)

In this documentation, we will show the complete process of how to create composite on Linnworks.

Linnworks is one of the most popular cloud-based inventory management systems. Linnworks is an e-commerce platform that provides robust tools for online retailers to meet the challenges of omnichannel selling.

Linnworks allows us to create kit listings. It’s called a composite item on linnworks. It allows you to sell a bundle of grouped products altogether. Not only that, there are other time-saving benefits of using kit items. It’s very common to see online retailers offering composites, bundles or sets of items on major marketplaces such as eBay or Amazon, or their own websites.

Composite Item in Linnworks

A composite item in Linnworks represents a set of several individual items that are sold together in a combined package. It can be a set of different items or a pack of the same item. The composite item consists of a parent SKU and single child items that create the group. As an example, an apple watch band set would be a parent SKU which consists of 3 child items – 1 apple watch, 1 band, 1 charger. For creating composite items we need to follow below steps.

Before creating composition you need to follow these below guidelines. 

• All SKUs to be added to a composite SKU must already exist in Linnworks before the creation of the composite SKU (this goes for both the parent SKU and child SKUs).
• Composite items cannot contain another composite.
• A composite cannot contain itself.
• The parent SKU must always be set to Not Tracked to calculate its stock based on the available stock of the child SKUs.

Step 1: Once logged into your Linnworks account, you can see that on the left side of the screen Linnworks features are grouped into categories that you can use. Click “My Inventory” from Inventory.

Search and open your created product where you want to add composite. Click on “Composition”.

Step 2: Now click on the “Add New” option from the Composition. And add your child items here.
